SEEKING A PET/FARM HOME FOR GREGORY PECK Meet Gregory Peck — our absolutely magnificent Light Brahma gentleman (1 year old in July) looking for a new ZIP code… preferably one where his security talents are appreciated. 
Gregory is a VERY large, stunning boy with a deep, distinguished “gentleman rooster” crow, fabulous feathered feet, and takes his job of protecting his ladies extremely seriously. Honestly? Too seriously.
He’s basically a teenage boy trying to figure out his hormones — doing an excellent job at security, but perhaps not managing his emotions quite as well as he could. Think self-appointed mall cop energy… he hired himself, takes the badge VERY seriously, and unfortunately no one in the neighborhood actually applied for his services.

) LOVES mealworms & blueberries Can often be redirected with snacks Deep, dramatic gentleman crow Very devoted to his ladies — he woos them constantly and takes his husband duties seriously 
One additional challenge is that Gregory is HUGE and most of our girls are much smaller Polish and Ayam Cemani hens, so despite his enthusiasm and affection, their feathers are unfortunately taking a bit of a beating from the size difference.
Has decided the neighborhood may also need policing Has become a little too territorial with humans Has been charging us and neighbors during free range some times.We truly think Gregory would thrive in a farm, acreage, or experienced chicken home where he has space, purpose, and fewer close human/neighbor interactions. He’s not mean for the sake of being mean — he’s just a big dude, large and in charge, with big teenage rooster feelings and a self-assigned security detail that may be better suited somewhere with fewer civilians.
With consistency, experience, and perhaps an industrial supply of mealworms, he may absolutely continue improving… but suburban neighborhood diplomacy is unfortunately not his strength.
He does live with another rooster, but they grew up together, so I am not sure how he would do with others. Would prefer he be the solo guy if possible.
If you’re looking for a handsome, hilarious, protective rooster for your flock and understand rooster behavior, Gregory may be your man. We’d love to find him the right pet/farm-only home where he can keep his ladies safe without alienating the neighborhood.
