The Rooster Registry: Terms of Use
The Rooster Registry is a community-based listing platform for roosters, drakes, ganders, quail, and other backyard poultry (“feathered gentlemen”) across Nova Scotia. By using this website, you agree to the following terms.
1. Platform Purpose
The Rooster Registry exists to help poultry owners rehome birds responsibly by connecting people who have feathered gentlemen with people looking to provide new flocks or homes. We are not a seller, buyer, broker, transport service, or animal rescue organization. We simply provide a place for listings to be shared.
2. User Responsibility
All users are responsible for the accuracy of the information they post, including but not limited to: breed, age, temperament, health status, and location.Users must ensure that any rehoming arrangements are made safely, legally, and in accordance with local regulations.
3. Animal Welfare
The Rooster Registry is intended for responsible rehoming only. Any content suggesting neglect, abuse, or inhumane treatment of animals may be removed at our discretion. We encourage users to prioritize safe handling, appropriate housing, and thoughtful placement for every bird listed on the platform.
4. No Guarantees
We do not guarantee: the accuracy of listings, the availability of any bird, the outcome of any rehoming arrangement, or the behaviour or suitability of any animal. All interactions are strictly between users.
5. Transactions
The Rooster Registry does not handle payments, deposits, or transportation. Any agreements made between users are done entirely at their own discretion and risk. Please do not send money for birds to users that you do not know personally.
6. Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove listings or content that: appears misleading or fraudulent, violates animal welfare expectations, or is inappropriate or unrelated to the purpose of the Registry.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Rooster Registry is not responsible for any loss, injury, dispute, or outcome arising from interactions between users or from the rehoming of any animal listed on the platform.
8. Changes to the Platform
As the Registry grows, these terms may be updated. Continued use of the site implies acceptance of any revised terms.
9. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about these terms or a listing on the site, please contact the Registry.
A Note From the Registry
This project was built to help backyard poultry keepers make difficult decisions a little easier, and to give feathered gentlemen a better chance at finding the right flock. Please use it thoughtfully, honestly, and with care for the animals involved.
